Recently, at Gia Dinh University (GDU), the Vietnam E-commerce Association (VECOM), in collaboration with the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy – Ministry of Industry and Trade (IDEA), solemnly organized the 2025 E-commerce and Digital Economy Lecturer Training Program – Southern Region.The event was attended by Dr. Le Hoang Oanh – Director of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy, Ministry of Industry and Trade; Mr. Tran Van Trong – General Secretary of the Vietnam E-commerce Association; Meritorious Teacher, Associate Professor, Dr. Thai Ba Can – Rector of Gia Dinh University; along with more than 200 lecturers and faculty leaders from training institutions in the Central, Central Highlands, and Southern regions, and representatives from related organizations and businesses.
In his opening remarks, Associate Professor Dr. Thai Ba Can – Rector of GDU – emphasized the importance of developing a team of lecturers in the field of e-commerce and digital economy, considering this a fundamental element to improve the quality of training and meet the requirements of the comprehensive digital transformation era. Representing the Association, Mr. Tran Van Trong – General Secretary of VECOM – expressed his deep gratitude to Gia Dinh University for its partnership and for creating favorable conditions for the successful organization of the program. Throughout the program, delegates and lecturers participated in four in-depth thematic sessions, focusing on key and highly practical topics, including: the National E-commerce Development Master Plan for the period 2026-2030; the amended E-commerce Law – updating new regulations on management, consumer protection, and data; the legal system related to e-commerce; and cooperation and training models for e-commerce at universities. Through these activities, the program helps faculty members update their knowledge of policies, grasp new trends in the industry, and expand their network of collaborations, strengthening connections in e-commerce training nationwide.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Le Hoang Oanh – Director of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy, Ministry of Industry and Trade, said that the Government has assigned the Ministry of Industry and Trade to lead the development of the E-commerce Law, expected to be submitted for approval by the end of 2025, in which human resource development is identified as one of the key pillars. According to her, training instructors not only helps update new knowledge but also spreads practical values into teaching, contributing to the formation of a high-quality generation of e-commerce human resources for the future. This year's training program goes beyond simply conveying information; it also creates a forum for exchange and sharing of experiences among instructors, contributing to the formation of a dynamic, creative training community closely connected to business practices.
With the active participation of Dr. Bui Van Thoi and representatives from the Faculty of Business Administration, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, the program acknowledges efforts to innovate teaching methods, aiming to build a high-quality e-commerce workforce to meet the development needs of Vietnam's digital economy in the 2026-2030 period. This is also an opportunity for universities in the region to strengthen cooperation, share training models, and work towards the common goal of standardizing e-commerce curricula according to national and international standards.
The 2025 E-commerce and Digital Economy Instructor Training Program is part of the project "Developing lectures, organizing events, and providing training on e-commerce to improve the quality of human resources and develop the market," and also concretizes the tasks set out in the National E-commerce Development Master Plan for the period 2021-2025 and the National Strategy for the Development of the Digital Economy and Digital Society to 2025, with a vision to 2030. With the theme "Human Resources for Sustainable E-commerce," this year's program further affirms the commitment of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Vietnam E-commerce Association to building a network of high-quality e-commerce instructors, contributing to the sustainable, modern, and internationally integrated development of Vietnam's e-commerce. At the end of the program, the Organizing Committee awarded certificates of completion to the instructors who fully participated in the training, concluding a meaningful activity that contributed to improving the quality of digital human resources and aiming towards the successful implementation of the National Digital Transformation Strategy.
