Mastering legal regulations not only helps businesses and individuals conduct online business legally but also protects consumer rights, creates a sustainable e-commerce environment, and avoids unnecessary legal risks.
Key legal issues in e-commerce, from website registration to consumer protection, have been clarified, equipping students with the necessary knowledge to address the challenges in this industry.
Mr. Tuan also shared details about important legal regulations in the e-commerce industry in Vietnam. According to him, Decree No. 52/2013/ND-CP is a crucial legal basis for managing e-commerce, guiding activities in this industry from website registration to transaction management and consumer protection. However, he noted that some regulations are still lacking and have not kept pace with the rapid development of the industry, especially in the context of the increasingly strong growth of e-commerce platforms.
To address practical needs, Mr. Tuan shared the new points in Decree No. 85/2021/ND-CP, one of the important decrees regulating e-commerce activities and overcoming shortcomings in the management of online trading platforms. This decree particularly focuses on enhancing transparency in e-commerce transactions, protecting consumer rights, and strengthening the responsibility of businesses operating on digital platforms. Mr. Tuan emphasized that the new regulations in this decree will contribute to promoting the sustainable development of e-commerce, while creating a clear and favorable legal environment for both consumers and businesses. “E-commerce students need to master these regulations so they can apply them to their future work, protect consumer rights, and ensure that businesses operate within the legal framework when participating in the e-commerce environment,” Mr. Tuan affirmed.
At the seminar, the Director of eComDX shared practical information about the inspection, verification, and handling of violations in e-commerce, while emphasizing important issues that students need to pay special attention to, such as counterfeit goods, pirated products, and intellectual property infringement on e-commerce platforms. Although e-commerce platforms have implemented control measures, product counterfeiting and copyright infringement remain serious problems in the industry. “E-commerce students need to clearly understand legal regulations, equip themselves with the ability to identify fraudulent behavior, and protect the intellectual property rights of their brands,” Mr. Tuan stressed.
