The workshop "Enhancing the Competitiveness of Local Specialties on the E-commerce Marketplace" was organized by the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (E-commerce & Digital Economy) - Ministry of Industry and Trade in collaboration with the Department of Industry and Trade of Gia Lai province.

According to the organizers, the workshop "Enhancing the Competitiveness of Local Specialties in the Marketplace" aims to support businesses, cooperatives, and production and business households in Gia Lai province to improve their competitiveness in the marketplace, while also expanding new development opportunities for potential local specialty products.

In Gia Lai province, there are currently 70,675.56 hectares of crops certified for good agricultural practices and organic farming. Eighteen high-tech agricultural production zones have been established, covering a total area of 3,489.6 hectares. Key products utilizing high technology include: avocados, durians, dragon fruit, chili peppers, black pepper, coffee, vegetables, flowers, and medicinal herbs. To date, the province has 981 products from 507 entities that have achieved OCOP (One Commune One Product) status (still valid), including: 851 products with 3-star rating (86.75%), 123 products with 4-star rating (12.54%), and 7 products with 5-star rating. In the current trend of strong e-commerce development, enhancing the competitiveness of local specialties on the e-commerce market is a particular focus of the province…

Currently, e-commerce in Gia Lai province is developing strongly, gradually becoming an integral part of daily life, contributing to the promotion of local socio-economic development, and enhancing the competitiveness of businesses and the province as a whole. People are gradually changing their shopping habits from traditional methods to online shopping. Businesses in the province have shown interest in e-commerce, proactively participating in e-commerce applications and platforms for exchange and trade. Supermarkets, shopping centers, and businesses are promoting cashless payment methods; the "Digital Market - Digital Rural Area" model is being implemented in the province… Connecting with advanced e-commerce solutions not only provides opportunities for local businesses to improve their competitiveness and access the domestic market but also opens up greater potential for export activities, especially for OCOP products, agricultural products, and distinctive products of the province…

Accordingly, at the workshop, delegates heard presentations from managers and experts from the Department of E-commerce and Digital Technology - Ministry of Industry and Trade; the Project on Building a Plan and Implementing E-commerce Applications; Sao Star Media Company, etc., on key topics such as: E-commerce development orientation for the period 2026-2030; Solutions to support traditional small businesses in applying e-commerce; the "Unlocking Knowledge" game show; Introduction to cross-border e-commerce – Gobiz Vietnam platform; the "Building a New Store" game show; Livestreaming skills in e-commerce, etc.

In particular, besides the "Unlock Knowledge" and "Build a New Booth Challenge" game shows, at the "Enhancing the Competitiveness of Local Specialties on the Marketplace" workshop, delegates, businesses, cooperatives, households, and small traders from traditional markets also participated in selling their products through a livestream program. Among these were many "Specialties of the Nẫu Region" bearing the OCOP brand, such as: Hoàng Đông sticky rice cake wrapped in thorny leaves; Tân Thịnh anchovy fish sauce; Khánh Giang cereal flour; Mộc roasted coffee; Linh Nhi bird's nest; An Mộc Thảo honey; VIDATA vegetable rice noodles; Bà Nhiêm salted lemons…
