Workshop on enhancing the competitiveness of local specialties in the online environment

On the afternoon of November 4th, the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade), in coordination with the Department of Industry and Trade of Gia Lai province, organized a workshop titled "Enhancing the Competitiveness of Local Specialties in the Online Environment".

The program is supported by TikTok Vietnam, Sao Star Media, and other partner media outlets.

The workshop aimed to equip more than 50 businesses, cooperatives, and OCOP product manufacturers   in the province with knowledge and skills such as: solutions to support traditional market traders in applying e-commerce; e-commerce development orientation for the period 2026-2030; introduction to the cross-border e-commerce platform Gobiz Vietnam; and livestreaming sales skills in the digital environment.

Gia Lai province currently has 981 valid OCOP products from 507 businesses. Of these, 851 products have achieved 3-star rating (86.75%), 123 products have achieved 4-star rating (12.54%), and 7 products have achieved 5-star rating. This is a rich resource of products that needs to be exploited more effectively on digital platforms, especially in the context of rapidly developing e-commerce and increasingly popular online sales.

Mr. Kha hoped that e-commerce solution providers would contribute practical ideas to promote the development of  e-commerce  in the province in particular and the country in general.

Also on the same day, the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy organized a livestream event to promote 20 typical OCOP products of the province through the TikTok platform and the Sao Star channel, contributing to enhancing the presence of local products in the digital environment.
