Ninh Binh businesses confidently bring OCOP products to e-commerce platforms

On the morning of May 29th in Ninh Binh, the Center for E-commerce and Digital Technology Development (Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy, Ministry of Industry and Trade) - eComDX, in coordination with the Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Industry and Trade, organized a training conference on bringing typical products and OCOP products to e-commerce platforms for businesses, cooperatives, and production and business establishments in the province.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Deputy Director of the Ninh Binh Department of Industry and Trade, said that from 2018 to the present, Ninh Binh province has implemented the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program, achieving significant results with 211 products ranked as OCOP products. Of these, 73 products achieved 4-star rating and 138 products achieved 3-star rating. To promote the connection and promotion of OCOP products, as well as other typical products of the province, the use of e-commerce platforms and social networks has become an important solution, helping to bring quality and safe products to consumers.

However, Mr. Binh also shared that, although e-commerce platforms offer many opportunities, many producers and businesses in the province are still facing difficulties in building and implementing solutions to effectively utilize e-commerce channels. One of the major challenges is the limited human resources, especially the shortage of experienced small traders, leading to suboptimal support for businesses and production facilities from e-commerce platforms and social networks.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Deputy Director of the Ninh Binh Department of Industry and Trade, delivered a speech at the conference.

To address this issue, Mr. Binh emphasized that one of the key solutions is to provide thorough training for the sales staff of these units. They must possess sufficient skills to build brands and effectively promote products on e-commerce platforms and social media, while also focusing on investing in technology to improve product quality and diversify product designs. Therefore, Mr. Binh hopes that the eComDX Center will provide detailed guidance and in-depth training courses, helping businesses and production facilities implement effective e-commerce solutions, thereby promoting the stronger development of OCOP products in the future.

At the conference, Mr. Vu Minh Ngoc, representative of the Center for E-commerce and Digital Technology Development, Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade) - eComDX, shared the latest information on e-commerce in Vietnam, along with market trends and forecasts for 2025.

Accordingly, e-commerce is no longer a new trend but has become an essential element in today's digital economy. In this context, Vietnamese e-commerce will open up great opportunities but also face many challenges. According to Mr. Ngoc, strong digital transformation and increased competition require businesses to quickly grasp new trends such as Shoppertainment and AI to create a sustainable competitive advantage. At the same time, optimizing logistics costs and ensuring safety and transparency in online transactions will play a decisive role in the success of businesses. Proactive application of technology and innovation will help businesses not only survive but also thrive on e-commerce platforms. Therefore, if businesses in Ninh Binh in particular and Vietnamese businesses in general can quickly adapt and take full advantage of current opportunities, they will have the potential to conquer the global market.

To achieve this, Mr. Ngoc encouraged businesses in Ninh Binh to equip themselves with solid knowledge of e-commerce platforms, including the process of creating accounts, building online stores, and optimizing business strategies to attract customers. These skills will not only help businesses understand online tools but also enable them to leverage them to increase revenue and enhance competitiveness.

“Joining e-commerce platforms now is an opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Ninh Binh to expand their market and sales channels. Platforms like Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop are now powerful tools that help businesses easily reach customers and broaden their reach,” shared a representative from eComDX.

At the conference, businesses, cooperatives, and production facilities in Ninh Binh were equipped with the necessary skills to operate online stores on e-commerce platforms such as Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop. These skills can help Ninh Binh businesses more easily bring their typical products and OCOP (One Commune One Product) products to a wider domestic market and also to the international market.

Mr. Cao Quy Long, representative of the eComDX Center, guided businesses through practical exercises at the conference.

To help businesses in Ninh Binh maximize the potential of e-commerce, eComDX experts have also provided detailed guidance on building online stores, optimizing business strategies, and applying AI solutions to analyze customer behavior. These guidelines will help businesses optimize their operational processes, thereby improving business efficiency.

In addition, experts also introduced methods for applying artificial intelligence (AI) in online business. Participants clearly understood the importance of applying AI to analyze customer data, personalize marketing strategies, and optimize sales processes. AI not only automates tasks and minimizes errors but also improves work efficiency, thereby helping businesses increase revenue effectively.

The participants in the training conference all expressed enthusiasm at being able to update their knowledge. Mr. Pham Quang The, representative of the Khanh Thanh Safe Agricultural Products Production and Consumption Cooperative, shared: "Our cooperative supplies clean agricultural products to stores and supermarkets inside and outside the province. On average, we sell about 10 tons of vegetables and fruits daily, with much higher productivity and value compared to rice cultivation. Although we are a cooperative producing OCOP products, we used to face difficulties in expanding our market and reaching customers outside the local area. The course helped us realize a new opportunity: bringing our products to e-commerce platforms. Learning how to apply artificial intelligence (AI) in customer data analysis and optimizing online marketing strategies has helped me better understand the role of technology in business. We will apply this knowledge to improve our sales strategy, reach the right target customers, and develop strongly in the future. Before participating in the course, I had only heard about e-commerce." I didn't really understand and didn't know how to list products on online marketplaces. After completing the course, I have a clearer understanding of platforms like Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop."

Experts assist students in creating accounts, setting up online stores, and posting products on e-commerce platforms.

In addition to theoretical knowledge, trainees also receive direct guidance on how to set up accounts and conduct business on e-commerce platforms, and how to create images and videos for sales using AI.

Experts also assisted trainees step-by-step in creating accounts, setting up online stores, and posting products on e-commerce platforms, helping them become more confident in applying the knowledge they had learned to practice. Businesses were able to practice right in the classroom and master the skills of operating online stores.

In the coming period, the eComDX Center will continue to promote the development of e-commerce human resources in localities, focusing on improving knowledge and skills for businesses, cooperatives, and individual business owners. By organizing regular training and workshops, the eComDX Center will help local management agencies update new e-commerce policies, while supporting businesses in overcoming difficulties in production and business. These efforts will promote the sustainable development of e-commerce, create high-quality products and services, meet market demands, and affirm the position of localities in the national digital economy.
